COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
LABELS (HEAT SEALING TAPE)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item description.
This description covers roll labels with heat sealing adhesive used in automatic equiptment for labeling wrapped products. The labels give information regarding weight, unit and total cost.
Salient characteristics:
Performance characteristics: The roll must perform satisfactorily on Hobart 3000 Computer Labeler System and Hobart Dayton 2000Automatic Scale.

The labels shall have a white center stripe not less than 1/2 inch wide and an adjoining yellow stripe on each side not less than 11/16 inch wide. Adjoining the yellow stripes there shall be red boarders each of which is not less than 1/8 inch wide with a sawtooth pattern.
Workmanship. The rolls of tape shall be in one continuous length without splices, joints, seams tears, which would interfer with the normal operation of the Hobart machinery. The core shall be designed so that there will be no slippage on the labeling machine. Nor shall there be any defects adversely affecting appearance or serviceability.
Preservation, packaging, packing, labeling, and marking. The preservation, packaging, packing, labeling and marking shall be as specified in the contract or order.
