COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION

OILED STENCIL FILING WRAPPER

The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this

Commercial Item Description in lieu of Federal Specification UU-W-1231

Salient characteristics.

                The oiled stencil filing wrapper shall be suitable for storing cleaned used stencils. The wrapper shall be impregnated with oil or wax and folded once in the long direction so that both halves measure 9 x 19 inches (+1/4 inch). The wrapper shall be square cut with smooth edges, and free of holes, tears, and cuts.

Certification.      The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this commercial item description and that the product conforms to the producer’s own drawing, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices and is the same product offered for sale in the commercial market. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.

Recovered Materials.     The manufacturer shall utilize recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable.

Packaging, packing and marking.               Wrapper, in quantities as specified in the contract order shall be packaged in accordance with normal commercial practice and packed in fiberboard boxes that will assure acceptance by common carrier and provide product protection against loss and damage during multiple shipments, handling and storage. The shipping container shall be in compliance with the National Motor Freight Classification and Uniform Freight Classification. Marking shall be as specified in the contract or order.
