COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
PAPER, CARBON, TYPEWRITER
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description for all federal agencies.
1. SCOPE. This description covers carbon paper for use in standard manual and electric typewriters.
2. CLASSIFICATION. The carbon paper shall be of one type.
3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS
3.1 Materials.
3.1.1 Paper. Carbon paper shall consist of carbonizing paper coated on one side with suitable materials necessary to meet the quality and performance requirements.
3.1.2 Appearance. The coated side of the carbon paper shall be readily identifiable. The manufacturer’s name and/or trademark shall appear on the uncoated side of each sheet.
3.1.3 Color. The color of reproductions produced by the carbon paper shall be black.
3.1.4 Size and trim sheets. The carbon paper shall be furnished in sizes specified. The paper shall not be more than 0.16 cm(1/16inch) undersize or more than 0.32 cm(1/8 inch) oversize in either dimension. The paper shall be flat Trimmed square on four sides with clean, smooth edges.
