ENVELOPE, WALLET
The General Services Administration, Federal Supply Service, Engineering Division, New York, NY 10278; has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description.
1. CLASSIFICATION: Wallet envelopes covered by this commercial item description shall be of the following sizes and expansions, as specified in the contract or ordering document (See Section 7).

Expansion:
A - 1 fold - 22.2 mm (7/8”)
B - 2 folds - 44.4 mm (1-3/4”)
C - 3 folds - 66.6 mm (2-5/8”)
D - 4 folds - 88.9 mm (3-1/2”)
2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS:
A. Construction. Wallet envelopes shall be provided with flaps and full height gussets. Envelopes shall be supplied in the sizes specified (See Section 7) . The leaves of the envelopes shall be two-ply with rounded corners. The color of the outer ply shall be red; the color of the inner ply shall be red, salmon or manila as specified. The flap shall be a continuation of the back leaf and shall overlap the front by a minimum of 101.6 mm (4 inches) when fully expanded. For the size VI wallet envelope the flap shall overlap not less than 50.8 mm (2 inches). The flap shall be scored horizontally at various locations to accommodate folding the flap within the expansion range of the wallet.
