The gusset shall be one-ply, single piece construction with a reinforcing strip of cloth, polymeric non-woven material or latex impregnated fiber not less than 15.8 mm (5/8 inch) wide completely and securely glued to the top of the gusset on the inside face. The reinforcement strip shall be positioned flush with the top of the gusset, or no more than 1/8 inch below the top of the gusset, and shall extend fully across the inside width of the gusset, without a break in continuity. The gusset shall be the same color as the outer ply of the leaves. The gusset shall be bonded in place between the plies of the leaves. When the plies and gussets are pulled apart, failure shall be entirely in the paper stock and not the adhesive bond.

When specified, the wallets envelope shall be equipped with elastic loops or ties. The ties shall be either cotton cloth or other suitable material, at least six inches long, which can be securely fastened (See Section 7).

B. Dimensions: Dimensions shall be as specified for the applicable Size and Expansion, with a tolerance of + 1.5 mm (+ 1/16 inch), unless stated otherwise.

C. Physical Properties. The leaves and gussets shall be made of material conforming to the requirements in Table 1:

D. Workmanship. The envelope wallets shall be free from holes, tears, creases, wrinkles, blisters, lumps, ply separations, exposed glue edges, and free of any defects which may affect the appearance or serviceability of the item.
