FILM, COPYING, XEROGRAPHIC PROCESS

This General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description by all federal agencies.
1. Scope. This commercial item description covers dry-toner plain paper copier transparency film that uses the xerographic process.
2. Classification.
Type:
I. Film Without Sensing Strip
II. Film With Sensing Strip
3. Salient characteristics:
3.1 The film shall be constructed of (4 mil + 0.4 mil per ASTM D 374) polyester with both sides coated and suitable for use with the xerographic copying process.
3.2 The film shall be 215.9 mm (8-1/2 inches) by 279 .4 mm (11 inches) long and shall provide trouble free feeding.
3.3 The film shall accept markings from felt tip transparency markers without beading or smearing. The toner shall adhere well and not to scuff off during normal use.
3.4 Type II film shall have a removable 14.3 mm + 1.6 mm (9/16 inch + 1/16 inch) wide tape, flush along one long edge.
3.5 The film shall be provided in the following colors: Clear (with sensing strip), Clear (without sensing strip), and an assortment of Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow which shall be packaged as specified in the ordering information section paragraph 8.2, and or contract.
3.6 Feed Reliability. Finished sheets shall be capable of feeling through a copy machine (adjusted to factory specifications) without feeding more than one sheet at a time or shutting the machine down.
