COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
REFILL, APPOINTMENT BOOK
The General Services Administration has authorized the use
of this Commercial Item Description, for all Federal agencies.
Scope. This Commercial Item Description covers a refill designed for use with
loose-leaf binders with six (6) rings, 2.54 cm (1 inch) capacity, NSN
7510-00-285-1765.
1. Salient Characteristic:
A. Material: The paper used in the manufacture of the
refill, appointment book shall conform to the requirements of JCP D10, basis
weight of 60 g/m2 (16 lbs. (17 x 22-500)). The color of the paper
shall be white. The dimensions of each page shall be 139.70 mm (5 1/2 inches)
wide and 165.10 mm (6 1/2 inches) on the binding side. The tolerance for each
dimension shall be +/- 3.18 mm (+/- 1/8 inch).
B. Punching: Punching shall be in two (2) groups
(three holes in each group), 50 mm (2 inch) center-to-center spacing between
groups and 19 mm (3/4 inch) center-to-center spacing between holes within each
group. Holes shall be not less than 4.97mm (5/32 inch) nor more than 6.35mm
(1/4 inch) diameter. All holes shall be 9.52 mm (3/8 inch) from the binding
edge when measured from the center of the hole to the binding edge with a
tolerance of +/- 3.16 mm (+/- 1/8 inch).
