3. Workmanship. The paper shall be free from holes
(excluding required holes), tears, cuts, folds, scuff marks, lint, and shall
not be crushed or warped. The printing shall be sharp characters and free from
defects such as smudges, bleeding, chalking, doubling and fading. There shall
be no defects that affect appearance or serviceability of the printed refill
paper.
4. Quality Assurance. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or
purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all
inspections and tests. The Government reserves the right to perform any, or
all, of these inspections and tests it deems necessary to assure conformance of
the product and adequacy of the contractor’s inspections and tests. Each lot of
refill, appointment book shall be inspected for conformance to the requirements
specified herein. For inspection purposes a lot shall consist of all refill
appointment books offered for inspection at the same time. Unless stated
otherwise, sampling shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-105, as described
below.
4.1 Sampling for examination and tests shall be performed in accordance with
MIL-STD-105, using the plans specified in Table 1, unless otherwise stated. The
sample unit shall be one refill appointment book.

4.2 Packaging, Packing and Marking. Sampling shall be in accordance with
MIL-STD-105 with an Inspection Level S-2 and an AQL of 4.0 percent defective.
The sample unit shall be one fully prepared shipping container.
5. Preparation for delivery.
5.1 Packaging: Each refill shall be shrink wrapped. The completed
packaging shall be designed to protect the refill against damage during
shipment, handling and storage.
