To be considered acceptable, the minimum optical density of
the imaged area at 0.34 mj shall be 1.14. After testing, save the imaged paper
for the heat stability test.
3.2 Performance test. Set the GSA designated facsimile machine, maintained
in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions, on copy mode. Using at
least the last 20 feet of facsimile paper on the roll, make copies of an
original having characters whose font size is 6 or smaller. Continue to copy
until the roll’s warning signal appears. The facsimile machine shall be
maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. To be considered
acceptable:
1) The paper shall function without jamming or interrupting the
operation of the fax machine
2) the imaged area shall be uniform, permanent, black and clearly legible.
3) There shall be no voids or streaks on the imaged area.
4) The unimaged area shall remain white before and after processing
5) The roll shall fit easily into the facsimile machine and dispense properly.
6) If applicable, the facsimile paper shall be easily and cleanly cut by the
facsimile machine paper cutter.
7) The warning signal shall appear at least 5 feet from the end of the paper
8) The warning signal shall not impair the legibility of the imaged area on the
paper,
3.3 Heat Stability Test. Place the tested facsimile
paper from the Optical Density test in an oven chamber ser at 60OC
for 24 hours. After heat stability testing, to be considered acceptable:
1) The imaged area shall be uniform, black and clearly legible
2) The minimum optical density of the imaged area at 0.34 mj of print energy
shall be 1.14.
3) The optical density reading of the unimaged areas shall be 0.2 maximum.
4) The coating on the paper shall not exhibit defects such as, flake, loosen,
brittle or powdery, or adversely affect the legibility of the imaged facsimile
paper.
4. Quality Assurance. The contractor shall certify
and maintain substantiating evidence that the product offered meets the salient
